Sworn Translation
A sworn translation is a translation that has been authenticated by a sworn translator. This type of translation is used primarily when dealing with formal letters and documents, including:
- Contracts
- Certificates
- Letters of Attorney/Mandates
- Court decisions
- Statements
- Company Registration Certificates
- Diplomas
- Licences and permits
Sworn Translations are also used for any document that needs to be presented at Court or to a public institution. Any original document made in a foreign language must be presented to the Polish authorities, together with its sworn translation into Polish.
Certified Translation
A certified translation is a translation made by a translator or translation agency which enjoys full and proper accreditation in the UK. The organisations accrediting UK translators or translation agencies are:
- ITI - The Institute of Translation & Interpreting
- IoL - The Institute of Linguists
- ATC - The Association of Translation Companies
Polish Translators Ltd. is a member of the ATC and, as such, it is recognised by:
- The Home Office,
- The SIA (Security Industry Authority),
- Naric,
- and many other UK institutions
